Sunn O))) 2026 Concert Guide: Drone Metal Ritual in Chicago, Seattle & London
Drone metal legends Sunn O))) returned in force throughout 2026 with an extensive North American spring tour followed by a summer UK and European run. The hooded duo of Greg Anderson and Stephen O’Malley promoted their self-titled tenth studio album (released April 3, 2026 via Sub Pop) — their first full-length of new material since 2019’s Pyroclasts and their Sub Pop debut. Sunn O))) 2026 Concert Guide!
Expect the full immersive ritual: fog, extreme volume, robes, and walls of low-end distortion that turn venues into vibrating chambers. Chicago’s Salt Shed, Seattle’s Showbox SoDo, and London’s Troxy stood out as major stops on the trek.

What to Expect at a Sunn O))) Show
These are not standard concerts. Performances function as sonic rituals lasting well over an hour of continuous, overwhelmingly loud drone. Ear protection is essential. The stage is typically shrouded in thick fog with the band in robes. The new self-titled album material was a centerpiece of the 2026 sets, mixed with classic pieces.
